Jamun Cinnamon Bun
Sweet, spiced, and irresistibly soft—these cinnamon buns get a Beku twist with a generous drizzle of rich Jamun Spread instead of the usual icing. The warm cinnamon swirls pair beautifully with the deep, fruity flavour of jamun, creating a bake that's comforting, unexpected, and perfect for breakfast, dessert, or your next tea-time jam sesh.
INGREDIENTS
For the dough
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 2 tbsp melted butter
For the filling
- 3 tbsp softened butter
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
For the topping
- 3–4 tbsp Beku Jamun Spread
METHOD
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Add warm milk and melted butter, then knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled.
Roll the dough into a rectangle about ½ cm thick. Spread the softened butter evenly, then sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the surface.
Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 6–8 equal pieces.
Arrange the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each. Cover and let them proof for another 30–40 minutes.
Bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Warm the Beku Jamun Spread slightly and stir with a splash of warm water until it reaches a drizzle-like consistency.
While the cinnamon buns are still warm, generously drizzle the glossy jamun spread over the top and serve immediately.
